More Than A Porpoise, More Than A Man, A Manimal

I want a Porpoise who will laugh for no one else

For those who would care (probably only Jeb), I hung out with Don Bumbolez. We still don't know how to say/spell his last name. Don owned the painting company I worked for the year before I went back to grad school. He's one of the greatest guys ever, seriously. It was good to see him and hang out a bit.

Today I've been listening to the new Raveonettes online (here). It's very good. I've been a huge slacker with my bike training. First off, my gears were not working correctly, so I took in for a tune up, and that took 2 days, but I have not had time to pick it up. Finally after work today I'm gonna get it and ride a bit. We have a bbq party with our friends tonight. Our friend Des is still out.

It's been two weeks at the new position. Things are still a bit slow. Next week should be full force for me. I work with a good group of people, at least so far. You usually have to wait until deadlines approach to really see how people are as co-workers. I'm actually using cutting edge software tools for tech writing. I won't go any further into that, as to not bore you. I'm told I'm at the forefront of the "wave of the future" of tech writing. The "wave of the future" is to automate as much of the writing as possible and re-use content, if it can be. So like many industries in the past, the process gets more automated by robots or computers, thus cutting down the need of humans to do the actual work, which eliminates jobs of course. I do more management of content than I do of actual writing. Oops, sorry, bore alert. I'll stop now. It's Friday, no real thinking aloud. Have a good weekend.
