Tracey and I went to see the Illusionist the other night. It was a nice distraction from having to go back to work after the 3 day weekend. The weekend was killer though, several BBQs and some beach time. I even spent an afternoon on the beach with Herald, who was out with his cousin visiting some other friends.

I heard OK Go on my local alternative radio station this week. I guess their treadmill gimmick they did on the VMAs (I’m still waiting for Jack Black to be funny on that show, they gave him nothing) got them a bump in promotion because I've never heard them on our local station. I'm trying to decide if their silly choreographed videos are worse or more creative at marketing themselves then bands who get popular because of a cover song (see UB40, Dynamite Hack or Alien Ant Farm).

Bill Simmons has a nice list of movies/books he consumed over the summer. His take on the Wire is great. I really love that show.
