Ryan and Michelle and Hannah are here safely.

I’m proud of you Justin and inspired by your vigor for fulfilling your destiny, glad everything went ok.

Today is a Death Cab renewal day. In a couple weeks we’re going to a very cool radio fest show that DCFC is playing. Also playing are Franz Ferdinand, Muse, Secret Machines (highly recommend) and Yeah Yeah Yeahs. In relation to DCFC, there is a cool cover of the Postal Service (Such Great Heights) done acoustically by Iron and Wine in the movie Garden State. The song is on the soundtrack, along with two Shins songs. Despite some (to me at least) obvious influence/rip off of Wes Anderson, I really liked Garden State. Besides the drug use, I can relate to a lot of what Largeman is experiencing. I thought all the acting was excellent and I loved Peter Sarsgaard (see the Salton Sea if you haven’t, he’s in it), and I love him in everything I’ve seen him in. He’s in league with John C. Reily, Phillip Seymore Hoffman and Paul Giamatti. Great character actors that are just great every time I see them. A lot of critics compare the movie to the Graduate. I have not seen the Graduate in a long time, so I can’t really comment on this comparison. In terms of the Wes Anderson angle, Garden State is sad and melancholy, but really funny at the same time with a slightly uplifting feeling at the end, which is how I see all of Anderson’s movies. I would also like to see Hero this weekend.
