More Than A Porpoise, More Than A Man, A Manimal

I want a Porpoise who will laugh for no one else

Mike called us last night from Seattle. He said it’s a great town, which it is. He may be down here sometime next week. It figures that after all these years of having those trees in the way of playing basketball at Mom and Dad’s house that they are now gone, because of a storm, so sad. The other morning some idiot backed in to our car at a stop sign. He over shot the stop sign and was backing up, right into our car. Luckily his car only bent up our license plate. Today a plumber is going out to our condo to check things out, so hopefully by this afternoon we will have an idea of what is going on and if we are going to continue buying this place.

I thought the all star game was good on Tuesday, but I don’t like having home field advantage for the world series at stake. That means even more players don’t get to play, like CC Sabathia cause the managers are trying to win. Blaylock, who hit the game winning home run, is from SD, so I guess that’s cool. Man, the Padres really suck. The Indians don’t suck as bad as I thought. Although I don’t like them playing with me, acting like they are going to turn things around this year, then blow late leads on the Yankees. I wish I could get back for a game this year, but no dice.

I’m coming back September 25-29 to BG for a wedding for my ole friend Jeb. I fly into Columbus about 4:30pm that Thursday. I was hoping to drive into BG and go straight to the Rec Center to play some bball, but I can’t, cause Jeb said I actually have to drive straight to Franklin Park Mall (or whatever it’s called now) and get my tux and make sure it fits. So maybe a Friday afternoon session at the rec will be in order. That stupid hurricane that hit Texas has made it’s way over to SoCal and given us dark skies and scattered showers. I know it’s not the same as a full on hurricane, but it still sucks to have no sun. Again, I know I shouldn’t complain at all, but I moved here for a reason, and I certainly pay enough to live here, the least the sun could do was be out everyday, all the time. Actually, someone I met the other week, who was from Colorado Springs, said many parts of Colorado have more sun per year than anywhere in the world, including SoCal. Interesting and nerdy to know. Next Tuesday I finally get to see Reggie and the Full Effect live. Tracey and I have no major plans for this weekend, except to enjoy the sun, if it decides to come out. Well, Tracey has packed me a great lunch today (something that she has time for now that she’s off for the summer, sweet!) and it’s time to go enjoy it, a fruit salad and a regular salad, and water. That’s right, I’ve decided to try to get rid of my late twenties beer gut. That means eating better, no pop or beer during the week and exercise (besides just basketall). Let me tell you, it sucks. Michele, I’m right with you on trying to give up the Dew, it’s so hard, especially when I get free pop at work. Ok, enough complaining.
