More Than A Porpoise, More Than A Man, A Manimal

I want a Porpoise who will laugh for no one else

No worries Justin. We do know how hard it is to please you with movies. Do you think other writers and directors are like you? Being upset at all the crap that’s out there? Probably. I agree that City of God is the best I’ve seen so far this year. I’d say Narc is my second favorite. I was just looking over my movie stubs and realized that there has not been that much, if any, that has been that great so far this year. And don’t worry, I will be skipping the Hulk, looks really really stupid. And so does Alex and Emma, and the reviews are saying as well. I’d say T3 is the next movie I’m waiting for. Has anyone got the TMBG flash radio downloaded yet from their website, it’s pretty cool. One station plays all live songs, the other station plays normal recordings. I just signed up for a FrameMaker class at UCSD that Scantron it going to pay for. Every Monday for 9 weeks.

Ryan and I played ball up in La Jolla and it was brutal, physically. I won’t list off my injuries, but will mention that I had to put my thumb back in socket, that was not fun. We then all went out to eat at Filipi’s in Little Italy, man that place is good. Not sure what we are up to tonight. Ryan is going to play golf in Encinitas in the late afternoon, so he will be out of commission till late. I talked with El Brundage online today and he said he’s going to come out and visit in August for a few days, so that made me happy. I was glad to hear he hung with my bros. Although he said he kicked your butts in Risk, is that true? Might take Ryan out surfing tomorrow, we’ll see. Have a good weekend all.

Wow, sorry Justin for upsetting you so much about the Bond movie. There are a couple of factors here. Number one, I watched it on a Friday night, late and I was very tired (I almost fell asleep towards the end), so my judgment was a little off. I enjoyed it, and my exact words were “Oh, I did watch the newest James Bond on DVD on Friday, and I liked it for the most part.” I never expanded on that comment. Halle Barry was horrible, I totally agree. But in terms of gadgets and cool settings, I really enjoyed the movie. I just let the suspended belief stuff go for this one. Maybe it was just cause I was so tired and just wanted to be entertained. Hopefully you still don’t think less of me. This is probably pay back because I make fun of Chicago so much. I guess we all have our likes and dislikes, maybe we should not be so harsh on others, I don’t know. Moving on….

Speaking of actual good movies, we all watched LA Confidential last night. Michele is not feeling good, which stinks. The weather still stinks and it actually rained last night. Ryan and I played a few quick games of bball in OB yesterday with all the gritty gutty veterans (you have to see some of these guys who play in OB to believe them, one guy wears rubber gloves on his hands cause he says it gives him better grip on the ball, the dude shoots lights out so I guess he’s right). We got some Pizza Hut and then watch the movie. Today Ryan and I are supposed to go back to La Jolla to play some more ball. Then we might go to Little Italy for dinner, then maybe some more stoges. I got set up at work with another monitor so that I can have an extended desktop. I love it. It’s like the Media 100 lab in the Tech Lab at BGSU. This will make my job easier to do and save tons of time. I feel so important cause all the head engineers at Scantron has two monitors. On July 3 I’m going up to LA (cause Tracey will be back in Ohio visiting her family) to see Koufax play. I’m going to try to go up early and see the movie, Gigantic A Tale of Two Johns, about They Might Be Giants. I don’t know if it will still be showing, it opens June25 up there, but hopefully it will.

I checked my email this morning and I had an email from Wayne Everet. He’s playing an acoustic show tonight in LA for his new solo stuff, but at the end of his email, this is what he said, “Stay tuned for Lassie Foundation west coast tour dates...”. That makes me feel good. I will be redeemed from not seeing them in April. Well, I got a call from Tracey this morning and once again, they were denied getting on to the Price is Right. They arrived at the studio at 5:30am and still did not get on the show, that sucks. Oh well, maybe next time? Last night I did indeed play some Galaga in Mission Beach and ended up playing my best game ever, 466,000 points and level 52, I guess I’m a nerd. Apparently when you get to a million points you win the game and it just starts over at the beginning. At least that is what Mike Baty told Larson. On my way home from Mission Beach I got stuck behind this old lady in a Mercedes and the license plate said “EXBENSIVE”, get it? As if we don’t already know that your car was expensive, yer stupid. Plus she was driving all slow. I watched that new show on Comedy Central, “I’m with Busey”, and clearly Busey is a mad man. I’m not even sure if I liked the show or not, that dude is just out there. Mary, sorry we didn’t get to hook up. We look forward to you maybe coming down at the end of summer and chillin. Ahight, have a good Wednesday.

Just a quick post here. Everyone has left me today to go to LA and try to get on the Price is Right again. I’m not sure yet what I’m going to do tonight. I thought about going surfing, but I’m lazy. I’ve got a few Lucky episodes and a Boomtown recorded, prolly watch those. I may run over and pick up a ticket to see Reggie and the Full Effect and Midtown. I’ve been waiting awhile to see Reggie. On my way I’ll play some Galaga in Mission Beach. Justin, I like your plan for the future, although I know you have discussed it in the past, but the band part sounds cool as well. I’m just impatient with things. A few other interesting notes. I just read that someone is developing another “V” series for tv. “V the next Generation” or something. I loved that show when I was a kid. I was in Hot Topic earlier today and saw Sealab 2021 shirts and stickers, but I refrained, but I really want them. And someone is working on a script for “The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy”, which I thought was already a movie, but I remember that book or something with that name on it around our house when I was growing up. Hope the boys win tonight in softball.

Hi everyone. It’s Monday and the sun is missing. I feel so bad for Ryan and Michele being here and it’s just cloudy. They should not have brought that Midwest weather with them. We had a fun weekend with them nonetheless. Saturday we hung out all afternoon, then went down to Dog Beach and the OB pier, then headed downtown to grub at the Field, good as always. Sunday we chilled at home, then Ryan and I went up to La Jolla to play some bball. Ryan’s friend Phil lives out here for the summer so he met up with us. We all came home and Tracey and Michele made tacos, which were really good, then the boys headed to Hemingways for some cigars and convo, good times. Not sure what we got going on tonight. Tuesday the girls are headed to LA to go to the Price is Right, Ryan might go with them, he’s not sure yet. We’re hoping to hook up with Mary sometime, but we have not connected yet.

I found out last week that the first season of Strangers with Candy is out on DVD soon. I’d like to have that. Sealab was good last night. Thank God the NBA is over, that was ugly. Maybe we’ll go to Wahoo’s Fish Taco tonight, that would be good. Hey Justin, thanks for the idea for putting my IPOD on random, I’ve not done that before. I have 1100 songs on my IPOD, but it gets old trying to decide sometimes, so random is fun for me right now. Who’s excited about From Justin to Kelly coming out this weekend? It’s gonna be awesome (sorry Michele). Oh, I did watch the newest James Bond on DVD on Friday, and I liked it for the most part. That’s all I have to report for now.

“Good choice IPOD” Me, to my IPOD making a good song selection while on random.
“That was pretty Ninja” I can’t remember where I saw this, but I thought it was funny.
