The All American Rejects were really good, but my thoughts are that you don’t leave the stage for an encore after 28 minutes of playing, but that’s what they did, played 8 songs and left the stage. They then came back and played two more songs and that was it, about a 38 minutes concert, what can I say. One of the opening bands was pretty good, a band called Motion City Sountrack, moog driven rock, nothing special, but good energy. Next show up is the Flaming Lips, although Pedro is coming next week, not sure if I’m going to that or not. We might go see Identity tonight. I wanted to see this new indie movie called Owning Mohoney with Phillip Seymore Hoffman, but it didn’t open here, just NY and LA.

I played basketball yesterday and somehow has one of my toe nails ripped off, well, it’s still there but barely, don’t tell Tracey, she will be grossed out.

I'm Fat

Yesterday I went and saw a movie called Better Luck Tomorrow. It’s about four Asian teens who run a drug and extortion ring in their high school. It had some really great acting, but the ending was a bit weak, if not disturbing. It was your basic suburbia kids are bored with having “everything” so they turn to crime to not be bored anymore and then learn their lesson, but with Asian kids instead of white kids. I thought it was done quite well, except for the ending, it’s worth seeing, prolly on video.

Yesterday was also a tough day for me in terms of dealing with materialism. The new IPOD’s came out, a 30 gig one to boot, I can’t even say anything else about it, I guess I will just suffer with my 5 gig IPOD. I did drop my IPOD for the first time yesterday as well, but no hard done, so far at least. My pain was eased by getting a free Captain Murphy poster (The captain on SeaLab 2021) in my Rolling Stone magazine. There are four different posters of different Adult Swim characters, and a friend at work got the Captain Murphy one and I asked for it, and she gave it to me, so I’m happy with new cube decorations. I’m thinking about going to a Padres game this Saturday, the Phillys are in town and it’d be cool to see Thome play. Did anyone see Berkman get thrown out of the Astros game last night?

Tonight is the night I miss LF, but I will not miss the Flaming Lips, already have my ticket. Joel, I don’t think I should be number 2 on your list, I have a very good possibility of seeing LF again up in LA, but will the Lips be through again? You don’t know, so move me to number 3 position please.

Good weekend. We found a new Mexican place to eat on Friday night and then watched The Truth About Charlie on DVD, not that great, but slightly interesting. Saturday I watched some NBA, we took a bike ride down to dog beach and went out to a great dinner in Del Mar. Yesterday was more NBA (stupid Lakers) and just relaxing. I’ve been watching the bonus material from the Godfather series finally. Wednesday is a sad/good day. We’re seeing All American Rejects but missing LF. I know I’m a geek, but I’m getting really excited for the new Matrix. I had a lot more in mind to write about, but I can’t remember.
