More Than A Porpoise, More Than A Man, A Manimal

I want a Porpoise who will laugh for no one else

It's Friday and it feels good. I finally got my first interview (next Friday) for a job, so keep me in your prayers and thoughts. It sounds like a cool job, so I hope it goes well. Mary is coming down to SD this weekend and running the big 1/2 marathon with Tracey on Sunday. I will not be running, I'm not crazy like that. I did get my new guitar this week and have been spending some quality time with it. I still don't have an amp, but I have already managed to break a string (while tuning) and got to meet an old crusty rocker at a guitar shop while picking up a new string. He went on about how he saw Hendrix at Woodstock and whotnot, classic crusty. On another musical note, I had a little birthday money left over, so I got a ticket to see Coheed and Cambria next Saturday at a club just down the street from our condo. Also, our cable now carries MTV2, which is nice to actually see videos, but unfortunately it's hip hop month, I can't stand it. But I was up late the other night and saw a Jack Johnson video (Ben Stiller was in it), then some other video came on, then the next video was that same JJ video, thought that was weird, maybe some mistake or something, but they play the Darkness video every 45 minutes it seems, so that's cool. My Dad leaves tomorrow for Florida, to play baseball with old Indians players, you have to be at least 30 to go to the camp, so I couldn't go. That's all I got for now, oh, thanks Mike for Rygar, very cool.

I'm just getting done with a solid birthday weekend. It all started on Thursday, my actual birthday. I slept in, Tracey got home at noon and we headed up to Encinitas. We got some Starbucks, went to our fav spot overlooking the ocean and just talked, enjoyed the sun and I also enjoyed a nice Cohiba (I think it was) I got from my brother in law for Christmas. After a bit we headed back to SD and caught the Return of the King, which was very good, and long, jeez. After the movie we went to the Outback for dinner, mostly because we had 50$ gift certificate, and I don't have a job, so ya know, we're trying not to spend cash. Friday night we had a few friends over, we hung out, then went downtown OB later in the evening, good times had by all. Then I basically spent the weekend in bed watching football and relaxing. Well, Saturday Tracey and I did take a nice bike ride to Mission Bay. Sunday night I was going to go work out, but an old friend, Sam Windom called me and we chatted for a long bit, which was cool. By the time we were done it was almost time for Arrested Development, and we wanted to watch the beginning of the new Surreal Life, which was messed up, what a group they have assembled this time. Overall, a solid 4 days of good times. Somewhere in there I also picked the new album by the Darkness. My new guitar is supposed to show up on Wednesday, so waiting on that. I just got done applying for 6 new jobs, so wish me luck. It sucks applying for jobs, takes so much out of me, but its got to be done. Hope everyone else had a good weekend. My sister is coming to visit this weekend, and her and Tracey are running a half marathon in Carlsbad on Sunday. I'll be there to cheer them on. Late.
