More pics

Here's the pub where we saw France lose in the world cup final. It was fun.

Some castle.

In some pub.

The Pippetes. We saw them for free in an HMV store. I'd give you a link here, but Safari does not give me the add a link button in blogger.

I’m in murders and executions

Tracey finally emailed me after 5 days of no contact. I was getting a bit worried, but she said that a combo of scattered electricity, working all day and not being able to go out after 6pm has cut down their access to the internet. Here’s a bit of what she said about her Africa experience so far:

…this country has been my favorite of any i have
visited so far. the people are the sweetest and most
welcoming people i have ever met--and everywhere we go
we are welcomed. i feel very safe. mohamed is the
leader but has had a terrible bout of malaria so he
has not been as involved as usual, but his right hand
man, hashim, has been taking care of all of our needs.
we have a night watchman like your parents did, in a
gated area, with bars and locks on everything. i
would be shocked if anyone could make it in our place!
the hostel is very nice--a lot like your parents
place in kenya. the five of us are the only ones in
it, so that is also nice.

Since it sounds like she won’t have a lot of opportunities to update us through email or blog, I thought I would pass that along. If you don’t know, Tracey is in Tanzania with some friends doing some volunteer work until Aug 19. I tried to upload some more Ireland pics but blogger crapped out before it loaded them. I’ll maybe try again tonight, but I’m going to see a local band called Cape May tonight.

Here's that South Park link I mentioned.

The melody is wrong and I do care

Does anyone else feel exhausted trying to keep up with new music, bands, mp3 blogs, etc.? There is such an excess of info and access to hearing, seeing and learning about new/current bands that I’m feeling burnt out. If you couple that with online video of old tv shows, live concerts, countless humor sites, it’s insane. The other day I found this site that has every South Park episode ever to watch on their site. I can’t remember the link at the moment. I could spend 24 hrs a day looking up bands and watching shows on the internet. I wonder where this all goes. Do we just keep getting more content at faster speeds? It’s impossible to keep up, especially since I have this thing called a job that unfortunately wants my attention for 9 or 10 hrs a day when I factor in driving time. I’m sure there are articles out there about this situation and it’s affect on us humans. Well, related to this subject, I finally checked out Tapes n Tapes and I really like them. They will be play the SD Street Scene next weekend. Hopefully tonight I’ll have some time to post more Ireland pictures. I was going to do it last night, but I watched the Ice Harvest instead. I’m not sure that movie should have really been advertised as a dark comedy because I did not find much comedy in it, just a lot of killings. Here’s some more links to help you waste your day.
