"I just want to stay home and braid pony tails"-My boss said this to me today

My last hump day at Illumina. It’s been a super busy week, which I expected. Tonight I’m getting 1.50 lobster tacos, a new Wednesday tradition. I’ll have a busy weekend, hitting LA for what will amount to about 24 hours total, Tracey comes home Sunday, Monday we will relax on the beach, then hit the Padres game at night. Then I’ll start my new job next Tuesday. As irrelevant as it sounds, one of things I’ll miss about my current job is being able to wear jeans to work, which is apparently a no no when you work at a bank, so I gotta do a little shopping, since my “professional” clothes collection is sparse and/or out of date. I went to the gym last night for the first time in about a month, so feeling quite sore this morning. Glad Mike is back safe. That’s all I got for now.

I stupidly slept too much yesterday, then drank Starbucks at 5pm, which all equaled to me not being able to fall asleep until way too late last night. Luckily Spike TV was showing the Godfather, so I watched that (even though I own it on DVD) and caught a few good videos on MTV2. I ended up having a pretty decent weekend. Friday I didn’t get hooked up with that free tic to Decemberist, I was super tired anyway. I watched half of 28 Days Later that night. Saturday I got some new tires for our Jetta, then a few friends came over and we walked down to the OB street fair that was going on all day. We mainly sat on the beach wishing for the sun come out, but mostly it was cloudy. It was a relaxing time, despite seeing two fights and countless arrests of homeless and drunk people, and I walked past a 15 yer old girl getting a ticket for underage drinking, all in a day in OB. After we walked home, we went to Wahoos for a great dinner, then I finished 28 Days and tried stay up late, but couldn’t. Yesterday was equally nice, got up to Encinitas for a surf session, reminding myself how bad I am at it, chilled out on the beach afterwards, got some reading done, then headed to Lou’s records. I checked out this band called the Secret Machines and bought the cd, I highly recommend them. I also got a new Vagrant sampler. I spent the rest of the night listening to music and playing guitar. I learned a Darkness and a Jet song just for fun, cause they were easy, then I made another stab at Spirit of the Radio by Rush, no dice, still suck too much. I got a call this weekend with good news about Wadsworth, and I was moved in my spirit. And I did get to see that Beltran catch, as well as a pretty sweet Biggio one.

This is my last week at Illumina, and it’s strange. I have a crazy week ahead of me trying to finish a few projects. It’s been good here, but apparently it’s time to move on. Tentatively I plan to go to LA for the 4th weekend to stay with my friend Rob. Tracey comes back Sunday and we have Padres tickets for next Monday night against the Stros. And next Wednesday is Rush, very nice. I hope you’re not as tired as I am right now, have a good Monday if ya can.
